lAURA AS A CREATIVE
Fashion for empowerment
I design fashion as a language of dignity, as a secret reminder to the wearer to stand tall in their identity, to drive economic inclusion. Through Akanyuzi Fashion House, I create tailored pieces that celebrate individual form while embedding skills transfer for young mothers and women in informal and unstable livelihoods, youth empowerment, and sustainable, Earth friendly production practices into every stage of the value chain. My work in fashion goes beyond aesthetics — it is about building creative ecosystems that generate livelihoods, restore confidence, and transform craftsmanship into structured opportunity. I approach design with both artistic sensitivity and operational discipline, ensuring that creativity translates into measurable social and economic value.
Laura as a strategist
Strategy for Development
I design, accompany and lead projects and programmes that bridge institutional ambition with grassroots realities. With experience across healthcare, partnerships, and multi-stakeholder platforms — including national coordination and representation roles with Amref Flying Doctors — I specialize in translating complex objectives into structured, results-driven implementation. My approach integrates systems thinking, performance measurement, financial oversight, and stakeholder management, alignment and engagement. I believe that impactful development is not reactive — it is strategically architected, cautiously executed, and continuously refined.
Laura as a system builder
System building for Cohesion
I am passionate in building models, partnerships, and operational frameworks designed for resilience and scale. Whether strengthening response networks in emergency healthcare, empowering women, structuring youth engagement platforms, or designing inclusive value chains within the creative economy, I focus on building systems that endure beyond individual projects. My work centers on connecting people, capital, and institutions into cohesive ecosystems — ensuring that innovation is not isolated, but rather has ripple effects embedded within sustainable structures capable of long-term transformation and scale.
In places where opportunity is rationed, creativity is capital, strategy is leverage, and systems are the bridges we build so no one is left behind.
If you are building initiatives that advance communities and require strategy, systems thinking, and disciplined execution let’s work together.
